Band in a Box (Windows)
$90.00

• Band-in-a-Box™ is so easy and fun to use! Just type in the chord symbols from a lead sheet, fake book, sheet music, etc. and Band-in-a-Box™ creates an accompaniment that uses drum, bass, guitar, strings, etc.

• You can choose from a wide variety of popular styles (Jazz, Pop, Country, Rock, etc. etc.). You can transpose the key with a mouse click, change tempo, change styles, add different chords, and determine how many times the piece will repeat.

• You can save your files as SMF (Standard Midi Files) which can be opened in a variety of music programs. We often open the SMF files with Finale. Finale will allow you to save that file as an "audio file" which can be burned to a disc.

• Our typical usage is to have a student play along with the Band-in-a-Box file. It's like playing with a live group and students learn the benefits of playing at the right time, just like a giant metronome but more fun. You can use the built in sounds of your computer or you can connect an external source (keyboard, sound module) or use any of the virtual instrument libraries.

• It's a great practicing tool and it will be difficult to find this much musical fun for this much money.

• We use this product! Available for Mac or PC.

CM232x256.gif Classroom Maestro
$69.00

  Classroom Maestro

Classroom Maestro is an intelligent electronic blackboard for classroom and private studio music instruction.
Use a MIDI keyboard, computer monitor or projector, and Classroom Maestro to display quickly and effectively--including optional analysis!:
• single notes
• intervals
• chords
• scales
• keyboard hand positions

On a 1024 x 768 display, you can show all 88 notes of a piano keyboard on the staff. The staff display changes dimension automatically to accommodate the notes that you play.

Conveniently switch between Classroom Maestro and Home Concert Xtreme to teach your favorite music methods and pieces in a group or private lesson. Use Classroom Maestro with Internet MIDI to teach musical concepts over the Internet!

All you have to do is press a single key on your computer keyboard to tell Classroom Maestro what you want to illustrate. Then, play notes on your MIDI keyboard. Classroom Maestro does the rest--with perfect formatting!

Classroom Maestro is your intelligent, musical servant who understands what key you are in and who knows how to spell notes correctly on the staff, using your choice of grand staff, treble clef, bass clef, or any of the five C clefs. And when you touch just a single key on your computer keyboard, Classroom Maestro will even display an analysis of the notes shown on the staff, including:

• note names
• interval names
• chord names (using either jazz or Roman numeral analysis)
• scale names (approximately 200 scale names in the database)

Teachers can use Classroom Maestro for any group or private teaching situation, such as individual music lessons, class piano, instrumental group instruction, music theory, ear training, or general music.

System Requirements
• an 800 MHz (or faster) Windows computer running Windows 7, Vista, or XP
                                                        or

• a 500 MHz (or faster) Macintosh G3, G4, G5 or Intel computer running OS X 10.3 (Panther), 10.4 (Tiger), 10.5 (Leopard), or 10.6 (Snow Leopard)

• A computer monitor:
    • with 1024 x 768 or greater resolution
    • displaying thousands of colors or more

• Optional USB or Firewire MIDI interface (or MIDI keyboard with direct USB connection) and any necessary MIDI drivers

• Optional MIDI keyboard

• At least one MIDI cable (if using a USB or Firewire MIDI interface)

• Optional foot pedals for MIDI keyboard:
    • una corda (controller 67)
    • sostenuto (controller 66)
    • sustain (controller 64)

NOTE: The number and range of notes that can be displayed on the grand staff may be limited by the resolution of the monitor and the size of the Classroom Maestro window.

Although the program may run at lower resolutions, in order to see each of the 88 notes of the piano keyboard displayed vertically on the grand staff, it is necessary to display a full-size window on a 1024 x 768 or larger screen.

The horizontal display of scales is limited on a monitor with a low resolution. A screen resolution of 1024 x 768 or larger is preferred.

The World Is Our Audience!
If you are interested in the possibilities of:

•  learning how to teach the 42 Big Sounding Pieces to students or family

• giving lessons over the Internet

• performing over long distances for remote audiences
• interacting long distance with students and colleagues using the medium of a live, musically intelligent notation display then you should take a look at Internet MIDI!

Internet MIDI is a program that connects two MIDI instruments together over the Internet. For example, when you connect two MIDI keyboards and play a note on one of the keyboards, you will also play the same note on the other keyboard.

You can use Internet MIDI to teach a piano or keyboard lesson or even to broadcast a concert over the Internet in real time. Of course you can also use Internet MIDI in conjunction with a video conferencing program so that you can also see and speak with the musician at the other end of the connection.

Internet MIDI provides you with the ability to connect one MIDI instrument to another using IP addresses and port numbers. Alternatively, if you and your Internet partner have active TimeWarp Buddy Names defined, you can connect by buddy name--similar to the way in which you connect to another user of an instant messaging program.

NOTE: Making a successful connection using either method is dependent upon both computers having a broadband Internet connection that does not impede peer-to-peer UDP connections.

Internet MIDI has a variety of special features, including:

• special support for acoustic pianos that have MIDI features
• intelligent settings for insuring that the performance will have musical
